It’s easy to be a bit too much of everything in this world – too bright, too capable, too intense. Too deep. Already as children, we conclude something must be wrong with us, leaving us feeling like misfits. So we learn to hide, adapt, and compartmentalise, striving to become the ‘perfect’ adult, fitting the world’s expectations.
Yet inside, we remain that same bright, capable, intense child, which is why we keep feeling like a secret misfit.
Imagine reconciling that misfit instead of constantly managing it with immense energy, especially if you’re on the far end of those scales. It’s exhausting to hide who you really are! And it can be just as exhausting to put it on display extra hard, which some of us tend to do, too (looks innocent).
This category addresses both extremes, because true reconciliation lies in the messy middle, and breaking free from ingrained strategies to hide or flaunt isn’t always straightforward.
